We are aliens and exiles no more. We are His Tribe. But what does that mean?
Christian freedom: the gospel not only rescues us, but redeems us from slavery. This is how we are transformed.
The proof of faith is in its perseverance.
We are saved by faith alone, but saving faith is never alone.
Biblical belief vs. religious intellectualism.
What is the response required by the Gospel. What is the role of repentance in salvation?
In the final episode, we see the fulfillment of the kingdom promises in the return of the King.
Jesus arrives, fulfilling the Law and the Prophets, and shows how all of the Scriptures are about him and his work.
We need a better Law Keeper. We need a better Judge. We need a better King. We need an ultimate Prophet. We need the New Covenant.
Judges. Kings. Prophets. We see God's promise to send Messiah: the Conquering King, the Son of Man, the Suffering Savior.
The blood of the covenant and the sacrificial system of the Tabernacle are given because Israel could not keep the Law.

God's people are mistreated and enslaved in Egypt. God raises up a fugitive bad sends him to pick a fight.
A son becomes a slave. The slave becomes king. The king who suffered becomes a savior.
In a dramatic series of events, God reveals his plan to bless the world through Abraham.
Violence spreads over the earth, but God's grace rescues humanity through a man named Noah and his family.
The world was fractured by the Fall, but God's grace is revealed immediately in the wake Paradise lost.
The Story of God is much more than a history lesson. When we get it, we are captured by it and it sets our hearts on fire.
The New Testament gives a litmus test for what authentic Christianity. This message explains what love is, and what it is not.
Paul reveals the secret to satisfaction, and he should know because he has been rich and poor, lived as a political powerbroker and a persecuted preacher. Yet, he has found the sweetness of contentment and shows us how to find it too.
A sound mind comes from a strong spirit, and when it comes to addressing anxiety, we have some clear choices to make. In this section of his letter, Paul outlines some simple, straightforward steps to a life of serenity and sanity.
You were wired by the Creator to experience unspeakable, unstoppable joy. This chapter shows us the antidote of depression, fear and anxiety and gives a prescription that fills the deepest longing of the human heart.
Further up and further in, Paul shows us the now/not yet reality of our rescue. The glory of the Gospel is that it not only saves us, it changes us. Training is key to this transformation, so we "strain" for the goal of the upward call.
Why are we obsessed with a passion for Christ's glory? Why do we much of him? Because it really is all about him. Life. Marriage. Work. Education. Everything is from him, through, for him and to him.
Religion vs. Gospel. The Bible paints vivid pictures of our attempts to be good enough to climb the stairway to heaven. The pictures are devasting. Grace is stunning.
Burnout and frustration can cause irritation and self-pity. The tempation is to become toxic, and then to complain and quarrel. Paul shows us a better way.
What does Paul mean when he says, "Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling?" Are we made righteous by our works and efforts, or is something more going on here?
The descent into greatness: God's people are to act like family, be united over what matters and considerate of others as they live their live on mission together.
Is Jesus God? Does he share attributes and equality with the Father, or is he a created being who became divine? What does the Scripture say and why does it matter?
Here is the gospel: The God of heaven emptied himself and became a man, invading earth on a rescue mission that would cost his life, but he took it up again and is coming again for his tribe to finish what he started. Therefore, we can live fearlessly.
Without a biblical theology of suffering and God's sovereignty, you are chum in the water. This text, along with Romans 5, shows us that suffering is actually a gift from God used to shape us and build in us hope.
"To live is Christ, to die is gain." Whether he lives or dies, Paul is confident that rescue is coming and his deliverance is sure. This passage unveils the key truth of this letter and the New Testament: to lose one's life is to find it.
A divine perspective is needd in responding to dangers and difficulties. Paul writes not from a personal jet, but a personal prison, and yet responds as if he knows something his enemies don't: their plans have backfired.
How can you live in a world on the brink with unshakable courage and unstoppable joy? The opening lines of this letter show us how: placing complete confidence in God, that he finishes what he starts, and we are his forever.
